Planning a Romantic Weekend at Home

Plan the Perfect Romantic Vacation at Home

Maybe you want to get away but you just don’t feel up to traveling. Well, you can still have the excitement of a weekend getaway within the comforts of your own home by planning a romantic weekend at home. It’s simple and you won’t have to spend a lot of money! Like the sound of that? Of course you do! So, you’re probably thinking, “How do I go about doing this”? Plan, Plan, Plan, that’s the key!

1.) Pick a day on the calendar (maybe a month or two in advance to provide ample time for planning). To make it even more exciting, don’t choose a day like an anniversary or birthday.

2.) Make arrangements for the children early in the planning process.

3.) Send an invitation to your spouse and request an RSVP by a certain day – if you’re not planning the romantic weekend at home together, this is a fun way to add excitement and a sense of anticipation to your rendezvous.

4.) Pick a theme – if you want to go outside of the norm of dinner and a movie, choose a theme like the Caribbean, Hawaii or recreate your honeymoon destination. Pick a room in the house in which to create the theme. Be a little adventurous and choose the living room rather than the bedroom.

5.) Things to do

a. one night cook a meal together while on another night go out to your favorite restaurant

b. Bring out the bubbly be it alcoholic or non-alcoholic – you know that stash that you keep hidden for your special nights together!

c. Purchase scented to candles and place them in your themed room

d. This is the perfect time to cash in on your love coupons

e. Have some fun and play a board game

f. Sit out on the porch or on your deck in the evening to conversate. Tip – talk about something other than the kids and work.

6.) By all means refrain from answering phone calls and e-mails during this romantic getaway

These are just a few tips for planning a romantic weekend at home. To find out more check out what L.A Hunter has to say about romantic getaways at home.
